Originally a fishing village, Matagorda is perfect for a quiet and relaxing holiday, providing an ideal alternative to the lively atmosphere and vibrant nightlife of Puerto del Carmen, the main resort in the island which is 3km away.The long stretch of gentle sloping, fine dark sand is great for relaxing and there is plenty of space for kids to play. The beach is a popular windsurfing spot and is ideal for beginners and intermediates. In recent years, funds from the European Union have been invested in the beach area resulting in a wonderful promenade.The resort contains one commerical centre, which has on offer numerous restaurants, bars and shops. The airport is only 6km for Matagorda, a short transfer, if you head east along the promenade you can view the planes landing on the runway, the kids love it.

The apartment is situated on the Matagorda Bay complex at the western side of Matagorda, the name of the road is the Calle Mato.The apartment is on the 1st floor, facing west and has sun throughout the day till sunset. The view from the terrace is stunning with uninterrupted views of the sea, Matagorda, Los Pocillos Beach, Fuerteventura, Los Ajache mountains and the new golf course between Tias and Puerto del Carmen, it also overlooks the communal pools, a large heated pool and a children's pool surrounded by sun loungers.The apartment itself is one bedroom, one kitchen-diner, bathroom, solana(drying room). The entire apartment has recently been renovated and boasts an open plan fitted kitchen, with microwave oven grill, fridge, kettle, toaster and electric hob. The bedroom has a double bed, two bedside tables, wall mounted lamps, mirror and fitted wardrobe.The bathroom comprises of walk-in-shower, sink, WC, mirror, shelf and towel rail.
